Iringa Tanzania
Guided experienceRuaha National Park Private Day Safari
Embark on a private, full-day safari from Iringa town to Ruaha National Park, Tanzania's wild and untamed southern wilderness. Renowned for its enormous elephant herds, iconic baobabs, and wild predator populations, Ruaha offers a premier, uncrowded safari experience. *Please note: Ruaha is located approximately 120 km from Iringa. The unpaved access road takes 2.5 to 3 hours each way, making this day trip highly rewarding but operationally strenuous. For a truly immersive experience without travel fatigue, we strongly recommend our multi-day safari options instead.*

Book Ruaha National Park Private Day SafariFrequently asked questions
Is a day trip to Ruaha National Park really practical?
Yes, it is operationally possible and popular for travelers with limited time, but it is highly strenuous. It requires a very early 05:00 AM departure and involves about 5 to 6 hours of unpaved road travel in total. If your schedule allows, we strongly advise booking a multi-day safari to avoid fatigue and enjoy the park fully.
Are wildlife sightings guaranteed in Ruaha?
Ruaha has some of the highest concentrations of elephants and predators in East Africa. However, wildlife is free-roaming and sightings can never be 100% guaranteed. Your experienced guide will use their tracking expertise to maximize your wildlife viewing.
Is swimming allowed in the Ruaha River?
No. Swimming in the Great Ruaha River is strictly prohibited and extremely dangerous due to large populations of crocodiles and hippos. Swimming may be permitted depending on water conditions, weather, safety assessments, seasonal conditions and current park guidance at designated hotel pools only.
