Guided experienceKizimkazi Dolphin & Coastal Marine Experience
Journey to Kizimkazi, a quiet fishing village on the rugged southern coast of Zanzibar. Renowned for its unique marine shelf, Kizimkazi is a natural habitat for wild bottlenose and humpback dolphins. *Our experience is strictly designed around responsible, non-intrusive marine wildlife observation.* We do not participate in aggressive boat-chasing, crowding, or cornering of dolphins. Enjoy a beautiful morning boat cruise along the dramatic limestone coastline, watch for wild dolphin pods surfacing in their natural environment, and learn about local marine conservation. *Dolphin sightings are wild and cannot be guaranteed.*

Book Kizimkazi Dolphin & Coastal Marine ExperienceFrequently asked questions
Are we guaranteed to see dolphins?
No. Dolphins are completely wild and free-roaming in the southern Indian Ocean. While Kizimkazi has a very high sighting success rate in the mornings, encounters can never be 100% guaranteed.
Do you allow swimming with the dolphins?
We discourage active swimming with dolphins because jumping into the water near dolphin pods can stress the animals and disrupt their feeding or resting. We focus on respectful, non-intrusive observation from the boat.
Why is the departure so early?
Dolphins are most active in the shallow coastal waters during the cool early morning hours before the sun heats up the surface and before boat traffic increases, making early morning the optimal viewing time.
